  • Graduated from Dordt College in 1986 with a BA in Education and a Minor in Art
  • Graduated from Western University in 1993 with a Master of Education

To this day, I enjoy taking classes and learning so that I can bring valuable information back to our school and classrooms.  I have been teaching at MCS since 1987 and have been MCS’s Administrator/Principal since February of 1995.  Over the years, I have had the opportunity to teach or substitute teach in every grade level from preschool – 8th grade.  Each grade level offers interesting subject material while each stage of learning is fascinating.  I enjoy being an integral part of the learning process.  I enjoy those “aha” moments when ideas and skills click for students.  My daughter, Sydney, attended MCS preschool – 8th grade.  My husband Randy has served and continues to serve on the Finance Committee.  MCS: It’s parents, students, and school mission has become a cherished part of our lives.  When I am not at MCS, you will find me exploring a national or state park, taking photos, or spending time with my family.

Becky Werkhoven

Finance Director – since 2019

Graduated from the University of Idaho in 2007 with a BA in Business: Accounting.

Graduated from New England College in 2013 with an MS in Accounting.

I have over 10 years’ experience working in the areas of Finance and Accounting and still enjoy the mental puzzles and problem solving that goes along with it. Every area of my life (marriage, kids & family, church, and God, to name a few) has given me new perspectives and appreciations for honing my skills.

I am excited to be part of the staff at Monroe Christian School and to have the opportunity to give my knowledge and time to the organization that is devoted to instilling the important life-values in our children. I am also thankful and blessed for the opportunity to be a parent of students who attend MCS and see God’s work in their learning every day. God is good.

Lita Timmerman

Operations & Promotions Director – since 2019

I am a Certified Professional Property Administrator (CPPA) through the National Property Management Association (NMPA) My background and career are in Government Property Management with over 16 years of experience, not Education. But when I was asked to be part of the Monroe Christian School (MCS) team, I knew that it was God’s way of calling me to service. My family and I relocated from the East Coast over a year ago (2018) During our search for a Christian School for my son, MCS came on top of our list. It appealed to us based on its Christ-centered culture. After meeting the staff and faculty, their love for Christ Jesus was apparent. They not only minister that Godly love to all the students and their families, which is rare and very special, but with grace and respect.

Every day I come to work, I feel grateful be part of this amazing work force. I am delighted to see the joy and excitement in the MCS students especially at this critical stage of their lives. MCS not only provide academic excellence, but also spiritual. My son attends MCS since last year and have received an excellent education thus far.  He is blessed with a great Christian foundation at MCS.

Even with just a short time in the West Coast, I have fallen in-love with the place.  I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family and seeing God’s creation here in the Pacific Northwest. I enjoy getting to know not only the MCS staff and faculty, but the students and their parents. I am very blessed to be part of this great community.
